Pershing Boyhood Home Historic Site
Restoration of the National Historic Site 1858 wood frame residence to its appearance during John J. Pershing's boyhood from 1866 to 1881. The residence was built in the Gothic Revival style popularized by Andrew Jackson Downing. This residence has a close appearance to a design in his book "Victorian Cottage Residences", published in 1842. Restoration work included exterior masonry, roofing and flashing, and wood windows and trim.
