Sibley House Historic Site
Roof and drainage system replacement, and stone masonry restoration were the key scope of work elements on these 1830s historic structures. Site assessment and research in the MHS photograph archives were utilized to develop our approach to the restoration of these structures. The Sibley House was obtained and originally restored by the DAR as part of an effort to preserve the homes of important persons in the development of Minnesota. The site was acquired by MHS in 1997 and the restoration effort continues with the benefit of detailed hisoric research.
